Facilitated by Dr. Carpenter one of the WPS psychologists. This is a bi-weekly men’s support group at a location in Saint Petersburg! This group focuses on mental health issues commonly experienced by men, to include difficulties creating meaningful relationships and understanding/expressing emotions. As facilitator, Dr. Carpenter strives to create a space to understand and emotionally process mental health issues in a supportive environment

PET LOSS SUPPORT GROUP
The Pinellas Animal Foundation is proud to sponsor a Pet Loss Support Group created to offer those pet owners who need and want to ease the stress and anxiety related to the loss of their pets. Listening to others and sharing one’s feelings after the loss of a pet can be very beneficial in coping with grief.

SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP
Theory of mind is the ability for someone to attribute beliefs, ideas, and intentions to oneself and others, or the ability to understand why someone acts or feels a certain way and/or to predict how others will behave or feel in different situations. Theory of mind is a core concept that is taught in this social skills group.

ACT on ANXIETY & DEPRESSION
This is a 8-week in-person group program that explores the foundations of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for people experiencing low to moderate anxiety and depression. This program aims to empower participants by building their ‘toolbox’ with powerful and practical strategies to reduce their struggle with intrusive thoughts and unhelpful patterns of behavior.

TEEN GRIEF GROUP
The group provides a safe environment among peers to learn to accept and process the loss of a family member or friend. Stress regulation,guided imagery,art therapy,written exercises, drama, and psychoeducational materials on grief are provided.

WOMEN’S DIVORCE SUPPORT GROUP
Topics that will be covered include, but are not limited to, coping with grief, being compassionate towards yourself, establishing boundaries (with ex-spouse but also with self), and how to rebuild your life after divorce by identifying your values and aligning your behavior accordingly.
