PsyPact Psychologists
PSYCHOLOGIST PROVIDERS WHO CAN TREAT YOU ACROSS MULTIPLE STATES
Do you travel a lot for work? Do you live in two states across a year? Do you intend to move soon? These are all questions that many of our clients have faced, especially over the last few years between the pandemic, people relocating, teleworking etc. We have been facing more and more demand for not only virtual services but the ability to maintain your provider and an ongoing therapeutic relationship even as your life circumstances and where you live evolves. Old licensing laws restricted psychologists from seeing anyone that was not residing and present in the state where they lived. A wonderful change we have been anticipating is that now the state of FL has enacted PsyPact which is a law that recognizes reciprocity for us to practice across all other states that are a part of Psypact. Essentially that means that psychologists in FL now have the option to get a special designation that allows them to treat across almost all states! It is a special application and acceptance process so not all providers will be able to do this.
Once a provider has passed the necessary requirements they get what is called an APIT Authorization which stands for AUTHORITY TO PRACTICE INTERJURISDICTIONAL TELEPSYCHOLOGY AUTHORIZATION. Several of the providers in our group immediately applied for this license and designation as we are committed to the importance of continuation of care and maintaining long term therapeutic relationships that are not disrupted by moves or life changes.
