I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara, California. I work with adult individuals and couples who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, self-worth concerns, and difficult life transitions. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We can start with what feels most important to you.

My hope is to offer a space where you can feel comfortable being honest about what hurts, what feels confusing, and what you may have been carrying on your own. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and respect for each person's unique experiences. We work together to understand emotional and relationship patterns, reconnect with your strengths and needs, and find changes that feel meaningful in your life. I draw from attachment-based, experiential, somatically informed, and person-centered approaches. My work with couples is also informed by training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is rooted in attachment and connection. Our relationships shape how we see ourselves, how safe we feel with others, and how we respond when we fear being hurt, rejected, or left alone. Many of the reactions we criticize in ourselves began as ways of coping or staying emotionally safe. Together, we can understand these protective patterns with compassion and explore whether they are still helping you today.

My work is experiential and somatically informed. Together, we may slow down and gently notice what is happening emotionally and physically in the moment. We can explore needs that have been difficult to express and practice new ways of responding. This may include grounding, breath awareness, guided emotional exploration, and learning to listen to the information your body is giving you. The goal is for change to become something you can feel and carry into daily life, rather than something you understand only intellectually.

With couples, I help partners look beneath the surface argument and understand the emotions and attachment needs influencing their reactions. Anger may be covering hurt, criticism may be an attempt to feel heard, and withdrawal may be a way of protecting against rejection or further conflict. As the cycle becomes clearer, partners can begin sharing what they need with greater openness and responding to one another with more understanding and care.

I may also incorporate exercises from Attachment & Connection, a structured experiential program I developed for individuals and couples. Its guided reflections and somatic exercises offer another way to explore attachment patterns, emotional safety, protective responses, self-worth, and connection. I draw from this work thoughtfully, based on your needs, experiences, comfort level, and goals.

ANXIETY & EXCESSIVE WORRY SPECIALIZATION

Anxiety can make it difficult to feel present, settled, or confident in your decisions. You may replay conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, struggle with uncertainty, or feel tension and restlessness in your body. Over time, worry can affect sleep, concentration, relationships, and your ability to enjoy the present. In therapy, we can slow the worry down, understand what it may be trying to protect you from, and develop steadier ways of responding through emotional exploration, body awareness, and practical calming strategies.

GRIEF, LOSS & LIFE TRANSITIONS SPECIALIZATION

Grief can follow many kinds of loss, including a death, the end of a relationship, divorce, a change in health, the loss of a familiar role, or the realization that life has not unfolded as expected. Major transitions can also affect your identity, routines, relationships, and sense of stability. There is no single right way to grieve. Therapy offers a place for sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, numbness, or even relief without pressure to move on before you are ready. Together, we can honor what has been lost while helping you reconnect with your values and consider what you need for the next chapter of your life.

DEPRESSION, SELF WORTH & PERSONAL GROWTH SPECIALIZATION

Depression may feel like heaviness, numbness, low motivation, isolation, or a loss of connection with who you are. You may appear capable to others while privately questioning yourself, comparing yourself with those around you, or depending on external approval to feel secure. These patterns may affect relationships, decisions, boundaries, and your willingness to pursue what matters to you. In therapy, we make room for what you are experiencing while helping you recognize your strengths, listen to your needs, and develop a kinder and more realistic sense of your value.

RELATIONSHIP ISSUES & COUPLES THERAPY SPECIALIZATION

Couples often come to therapy because they care deeply about each other but no longer feel heard, understood, or emotionally close. They may repeat the same argument, avoid difficult conversations, or become caught in a pursue-and-withdraw cycle. I create space for both partners to feel heard as we identify the pattern that has developed between them and the hurt, fear, or longing beneath each person's reactions. My goal is to help couples communicate their needs more clearly, respond with greater openness, repair emotional injuries, and rebuild trust and connection.
