Dr. Sarah Carpenter
About Me
Hi there! I’m Dr. Carpenter, a licensed psychologist practicing in the Tampa Bay and St. Pete areas! I specialize in the treatment of substance abuse and trauma, but also consider myself a generalist, meaning I work with an array of psychological conditions. I consider myself to be very personable, open-minded, and empathic. Also, I strongly value the therapeutic relationship and the way it can be used to bring about positive change. My approach to treatment is person-centered and tailored to meet individual needs. I often draw upon interventions to help you increase a sense of insight, self-worth, and self-compassion by understanding how your past has a direct influence on how you interpret the present. I focus on ways to strengthen the relationships in your life to help you feel a greater sense of support and connectedness.
What I love About St. Pete
Not only do I practice in St. Pete, but I am also a resident of this amazing city! I am a Florida native having lived all over the state, and St. Pete definitely earned the place for me to call home. I frequently visit the Coffee Pot Park Trail, as I enjoy walking by the water to spot the dolphins and manatees. This is a great way to practice being mindful of your surroundings and turning off the busyness of life. This is probably my favorite stress management activity because when I am practicing mindfulness, I am able to have a greater awareness of my body, emotions, and thoughts. It is through this practice that I turn inwards and connect with parts of myself in an intentional and compassionate way.
Dr. Brenda Pinkerman
About Me
Hello! I am Dr. Brenda Pinkerman, a licensed psychologist who practices in the Tampa Bay area, with an office in St. Pete and Tampa. I enjoy working with individuals to restore their sense of well-being and discover underlying problems. In addition, I like to create a non-judgmental, empathetic, and safe therapeutic atmosphere. I am a generalist and treat a variety of issues and conditions. However, my strengths lie in the treatment of Mood Disorders (Depression and Bipolar), Trauma & PTSD, Anxiety & OCD, and wellness and lifestyle issues.
What I love About St. Pete
I moved to the greater Tampa Bay region 18 years ago and have never looked back. I enjoy the “real Florida” with all its beauty. I’m amazed at how white the beaches are in the St. Pete/ Clearwater area. I love looking for shells and gazing at the ocean. St. Pete is also a fantastic arts community. I love visiting the Dali Museum with its surrealistic world of art or catching the innovations of local artists in the St. Pete Arts warehouse district. I also appreciate the multiple music venues in St. Pete, whether to see a touring group at the Palladium or State Theatres or grooving with a local group at some of the local cafes and bars. Whether it’s connecting with nature or filling my soul with the sights and sounds of the area, St. Pete is a place where I can restore my sense of well-being.

Therefore, in treatment, we will work together to achieve our goals and act in accordance with our values in a way that creates a life worth living.
What I love About St. Pete
As a new resident of the Tampa and St. Pete area, I am constantly exploring new activities and spaces! One of my favorite places in the area is the St. Pete Pier. I enjoy going to the pier to listen to live music, watch the talented street performers, enjoy the sunset, and look for dolphins. As a Kansas native, I enjoy spending time near the water and use this time to practice mindfulness. I always encourage my clients to find the environments that evoke a variety of emotional states as these spaces can then be used to regulate our emotions. I look forward to learning more about you and sharing our favorite spots in the beautiful Tampa Bay area!
Dr. Amy Parks
About Me
Hello. My name is Amy Parks-Urrutia. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and a proud team member of Wellnesses Psychological Services. I specialize in assessing and treating children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and emotional difficulties and work with individuals of all ages, both virtually and in the St. Petersburg office location. My areas of interest and expertise include working with individuals with ADHD, OCD, Selective Mutism, PANDAS/PANS, and anxiety disorders. While the foundations of my therapeutic approach are behavioral and cognitive-behavioral, I view compassion as an integral component of the way in which I practice. I believe that growth and change are fostered in environments in which individuals are seen and heard and differences are honored. It is therefore my primary mission to provide a safe and supportive environment for each individual and family member that I work with.
What I love About St. Pete
I moved to St. Petersburg from the Atlanta metropolitan area in 2008 on what was intended to be a temporary basis. While completing my fellowship at the Rothman Center for Pediatric Neuropsychiatry, however, I fell in love with sunny St. Pete and decided to make it my home. St Petersburg provides my family with the perfect mixture of nature, arts, and culture and does so at a pace that is slower than that of my hometown, but much more my kind of speed. My perfect kind of day in St Petersburg is one that includes enjoying downtown local dog-friendly businesses with my husband, eight-year-old daughter, and one (or both) of our Mini Aussies.
Evangelin Browne LMFT
About Me
Hi! I am Evangelin Browne, your licensed Marriage and Family Therapist(LMFT), now in the St. Pete office! I’m so excited to be here, on this side of the bay! I have been in our Tampa office. Every couple, relationship, and individual I work with is a co-creative collaboration. It is your life and I will help you meet your goals, meet yourself, through, the, I cannot believe what happened, the ugly that rears its head, and the grateful good. I will support you to be the person you know you can be and help you tap into experiencing a better life. I will be inquisitive and encourage your exploration and discovery, to figure out how you became you.
We will look at how you affect your environment and how you perceive and receive what the environment stimulates from you. I believe we are a system and working within a system, we each have a part. Cognitive and behavior therapy is the process as is emotion-focused exploration. I give homework and expect you to work on your brain’s neuroplasticity to effect the change you want to become.
My clients are either a couple or an individual.
I work with couples prior to marriage, couples in crisis, or couples needing to upgrade their responses to each other or wanting something else. My individual clients vary, some with neurodivergence, sad or anxious about life cycles, depressed, or the other side of the coin, experiencing anxiety. I believe we all want to strengthen our connection with others and better tolerate differences. I’m a practitioner of mindfulness and meditation and will share with you my knowledge and experience from the ancient wisdom of yoga if you want. I find being outdoors is therapeutic and encourage all my clients to be out in nature with conscious awareness of themself, and experiencing.
I look forward to meeting you!
What I love About St. Pete
You know what else, I live in St. Pete! I am originally from California and was transplanted with my family to the central east coast of Florida. My father was with NASA, so, Florida became my home. There is a lot I like about St. Pete. I like the beaches of course and all the water sports above and below. I like visiting the eclectic shops and restaurants downtown; but, Mazzaro Italian Market, hands down, is the for any meal of the day kind of place, I love it!
