Training Matters. Skill Matters. Expertise Matters. A Compassionate And Caring Relationship Matters. Individualized & Research Based Treatment Matters. Fit Matters. You Matter!

We are a group composed of doctoral level psychologists and highly specialized therapists who each practice independently. This means that each of the contracted providers with Wellness Psychological Services has the highest level of training in conducting psychotherapy, with specialized areas of expertise. While each of our doctors practices independently we only contract with psychologists and therapists who fit with and already approach treatment from a similar model and approach as described below. We aim to match you with the specific provider who can best meet your personal needs and thereby provide you with an individualized treatment plan designed to reflect your individual goals.

Helping clients achieve a sense of life balance and overall well-being best encompasses the approach and philosophy of the psychologists at Wellness Psychological Services. Wellness is a term generally used to mean a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit that results in an overall feeling of well-being. We take a preventative, personal growth and behavioral approach to helping our clients achieve wellness. To that end, we offer an array of services including but not limited to:

Individual Therapy: We provide an integrative approach to therapy that helps you to not only address the problems that brought you into therapy, but also focuses on assisting you to maintain the growth and progress achieved. Our doctors help people with a wide variety of concerns ranging from severe depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders to coping with general life stress and facilitating personal growth. We will help you to feel present and fully connected to your life and those around you.

Health Psychology: We take a holistic approach recognizing that your mental health is intertwined with and closely affected by your physical health and vice versa. When appropriate we refer to and collaborate with primary care doctors, psychiatrists, functional medicine providers and nutritionists because physical well-being and nutrition are the foundation of mental health and wellness. Several of our psychologists have training in health psychology, which is essentially the intersection of psychological and physical health. They are uniquely suited to assist you to develop the skills to achieve overall wellness. Whether you are struggling with a medical issue or chronic illness, looking to adopt healthier habits, or just want to feel healthier and less stressed our psychologists are ready to help!

Couples Therapy: Love and relationships are integral to our life satisfaction and wellness. If your intimate relationship is ailing and disconnected, then it can limit your ability to progress and achieve wellness. Couples therapy can help frustrated and suffering partners to reconnect. We also highly recommend preventative couples’ therapy to foster skills and knowledge to enhance satisfaction and connection, thereby helping to buffer your relationship from pitfalls that can lead to dysfunction or erode relationship satisfaction.

First, we will match you with the right therapist to help you articulate your goals, values and wishes to create a treatment plan that supports you in working towards overall mental health. At your first appointment your doctor will begin to get to know you as an individual and do an in-depth assessment to help develop the individualized treatment plan to meet your needs. We use evidence-based treatments combined with a compassionate and caring therapeutic approach to help you develop the necessary tools and skills to move forward in your life and reach your goals.

We emphasize helping individuals adjust and adapt to the inevitable life changes and transitions that are part of the human experience. Generally, we have an overall goal of helping you attain balance and an improved, healthier level of functioning through the development of insight, self-awareness, coping skills and stress management strategies. Specifically, we help you connect authentically to yourself and with others allowing you to be your true self and discovering balance among your multiple life goals and roles. We teach skills to help you build and sustain healthier relationships, whether they be romantic, familial or friendships, through relational mindfulness practices, because satisfying relationships are core to well being and fulfillment. Within these core values, is a highly individualized approach as therapy is not a one size fits all process. By creating a compassionate, caring and supportive therapeutic environment, we facilitate a process to help you increase your overall life satisfaction and quality of life while improving your ability to deal with everyday stressors. We want you to leave treatment feeling supported, empowered and confident that you have the skills to face whatever may come next in your life.

Each of our staff psychologists uses a combination of research and evidence-based approaches. These range from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) combined with other behavioral, mindfulness and preventative strategy-based approaches. Our psychologists have highly specialized training and expertise in many of these specific approaches and will incorporate them into a personalized treatment plan designed to meet your specific needs. See our page on evidence-based treatments to learn more about each of these approaches.

We believe finding the right professional to meet your specific needs is essential. Each of our providers accepts some but not all insurance plans and we are working to expand this so that you have the maximum options available. There are various self-pay options and our doctors may be willing to adjust fees on an individualized basis. This can be discussed with your provider at your appointment. We work within your schedule to find you the doctor that can best meet your specific needs. Since therapy is not a one size fits all endeavor, it needs to be tailored to find the right person to help you achieve your goals.

We invite you to read our doctor profile pages and determine who you think might be the right fit and schedule an appointment online by clicking the orange button below. Or contact us and our intake care coordinator will help you determine who can best meet your specific needs. If requested one of our psychologists will call you back personally to discuss your concerns and help you determine which doctor is best for you. Our primary goal is to enable people to receive the best treatment possible. If for some reason one of our psychologists is not the right fit, we will make every effort to refer you to the appropriate professional.
